Why do we like this?

Forgotten Notes is funk crossed with deep house, plus some acoustic.

Hackman is a DJ who just recently graduated from a music college in Leeds, and he's got several EPs put out on different label. A frontrunner in the UK bass scene, his music has evolved from dubstep to deep house.

This is a great song featuring an addicting little guitar interlude and a sample of "Forgotten Notes" by Saine. Definitely funky, it's got that repetitive beat distinctive to future garage, but isn't so formulaic that it'll turn away the more selective IDM scene. UK funky they're calling it. I can't keep up with all these genres nowadays. The music's good, that's all that matters.

You can find out more about Hackman on his Facebook and SoundCloud.
