"Gypsy Love" is the latest single from New York rockers Habibi. Back from a five year absence the group have lost none of their political or social awareness, writing culturally relevant songs embracing their Middle Eastern heritage while incorporating modern music soundscapes.
Reminiscent of The Dum Dum Girls "Gypsy Love" is a lo-fi hub of eastern melodies and Rahill Jamalifard's intimate vocals. Taken from the group's forthcoming EP Cardamom Garden, "Gypsy Love" is short at just two minutes, but there's a magical quality to the track that leaves you wanting more.
It's the type of track I can imagine soundtracking a Tarantino film and would have been amazing in Jackie Brown.
Cardamom Garden is out on March 2.
