Why do we like this?

Really enjoying Gus Dapperton's lean towards R&B on his latest release. I did miss the momentary breakouts into raspy and guttural belts of emotion though, but I like the new direction. He seems really at ease on this song. Also enjoying the soft and minimal production.

The video for "My Favorite Fish" dropped last week. This is the second single off Dapperton's recently announced debut album Where Polly People Go To Read, which is due on April 19th via AWAL. 

Gus Dapperton first came onto my radar in 2017 when I heard "Im Just Snacking" soon after it dropped. I kept a close ear and eye on him and thoroughly enjoyed his early stuff. He has been an exciting new artist to discover and I had confidence back then that this eccentric pop star would go far. Still do.
