Why do we like this?

What if, in some weird world, practicing made you worse at stuff? The more time you spend trying to perfect your craft actually made you less able to do it with precision and skill. 

For one, it would make babies really good at everything. People would also have the ability to be professionals at anything they desire, but only for a short amount of time as their abilities fade in comparison to newcomers.

In fact, if practicing something made you bad at it I imagine Cid Rim would be unable to even identify music from regular sounds. Dear God, that would be shit.
