If you've been reading my reviews lately, you'll notice how much I love electronic music with R&B and soul layers. Here's another one for the collection!
Sydney producer GRMM's new single "Circles," featuring Yasmin, follows up "Electrify," but in all honesty, I prefer this one. There's something really beautiful about this track, particularly with those heavenly vocals, courtesy of Yasmin (who has also worked with Gorgon City and Kele.)
The groove is deep and catchy from the very first moments, while Yasmin's soulful vocals traipse up and down the melody with the elasticity of an acrobat and the emotion of 90s R&B. I'm really taken by the vocal harmonies in particular, and underneath are all the synths and future beats, adding a club-ready vibe to it all.
The track will be officially released on December 5 via Neon Records. If you're lucky enough to live in Aus you should definitely catch GRMM on his national tour. Grab your tickets here.
