Why do we like this?

Congolese-Finnish rapper Gracias will be releasing his debut album, Elengi, via the Helsinki-based label Cocoa Music on June 23.

"Open" has a cool and tranquil vibe throughout, which represents the album Elengi -- meaning beauty, gentleness, and good taste -- quite well. Gracias has loads of potential and is in my opinion a pioneer and one of the most promising acts within the hip-hop scene in the Nordic countries.

Elengi is an album that showcases a musical shift away from sample-based tracks and into deeper waters, approaching rap with a refreshing contemporary take that reflects Gracias’ influences across the genres of UK bass music, electronic production, techno, and alternative R&B.

Keep your ears open for this guy.
