Find a bean bag chair to lay in, flip on the lava lamp, and break out your headphones for this one. Grace Potter's take on Grace Slick's 1967 masterpiece off the Jefferson Airplane album
Surrealistic Pillow doesn't play like a tired cover, but a revitalized colorful take on an absolute classic. Complete with a hint of smokey blues, and with a bit of funky disco tinge, the band absolutely nails it.
After seeing Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at this year's
North Coast Music Festival, I'm especially excited to see them play this year's
Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival. (December 3-5, spread across Double Door, Congress Theatre and Lincoln Hall). A summer festival brought indoors in the winter, this festival staple will likely be on display.
