Not everyone likes country music, I totally get it. But for my fellow country fanatics out there, whose friends hate jamming out in the car to Luke Bryan and Kelsea Ballerini while taking the backroads home, I’ve got you covered.
Country music is known for telling stories. To me, that’s what separates a mediocre song from a great one. This stripped back and emotion-packed song is about experiencing a breakup in your small hometown, and beginning to associate heartache with the place you grew up. The lyrics, “where do you go when all that you know has slipped right through your fingertips? Love found somewhere else to live,” say it all.
The smooth harmonies and tender back-up vocals between the band-mates are strong from start to finish. All the band-mates play an important part in executing a sound that's authentic and heartfelt, while also polished.
You'll find this track on their debut album, Canyons, that came out last month.
