Okay, so I'm a little late on this one. But, having gone the past few years thinking I’d never like grime music, it took me a little while to warm up to it.
When getting to know an unfamiliar genre, it’s not unusual for me to be drawn to female voices, as I often find them the most approachable. It’s hard to resist a flow this catchy, as Flohio rhymes about her London neighborhood over a bouncy beat.
"Se16" is also a first for Flohio, as her artistic debut. She’s featured on two additional tracks on the God Colony’s EP, Where We Were, including the equally energetic "Fights".
Now, I may still be a long way from being able to distinguish two Skepta songs from each other, but you’ve got to start somewhere, right?
