Meet James Ryan, aka Gloomfeather. This talented guy is a newcomer to Indie Shuffle, but has been collaborating with someone whose work had graced these airwaves, the eccentric producer Michael Keenan. Together, they've worked up an alt-indie-electro-rock project with some hip-hop roots titled Starkiller.
"Strobing" is one of the many enjoyable tracks from this record, one that combines Ryan's polished vocals and alt-rock personality with Keenan's electronic hip-hop/R&Binfusions. The two first linked up on Control Naturalfora collaborative single titled "Wonderful,"a track that has a more indie pop sound but is no less impressive.
I had the pleasure of listening to the entire project while selecting a song to highlight for this post, and it wasn't easy. Starkilleris an enjoyable start to finish ride, and that's a rare feat.
