While the video for this track was a viral sensation in 2012, I have to admit that I just caught a taste of this track. Considering I was forced to watch Showtime's
Dexter and then subsequently became obsessed, it's a mystery that I didn't stumble across the video parody sooner.
This latest single by
Gliffics, the Brooklyn-based rapper, was produced by the notorious
!llmind (Kanye West's Cruel Summer) and features a radio-ready vocal accompaniment by industry newcomer Lenny Harold.
This track is reminiscent of the silky, polished tunes that had the girls going wild in the 90s. It's more than just a hit, it's a message to all the young cats that their "fish and potatoes" lyrics stink to high heaven, and someone has finally arrived to call them out and take them out.
The track is great, but the
video is even greater -- check it out!
