Why do we like this?
Glen Hansard has done a number of interesting things with his career, he’s added more to it with his latest track, "Roll On Slow." I still love Once, which Hansard acts in, the soundtrack is brilliant, poignant and compelling on its own, but immeasurable when combined with the heartbreaking narrative of the film.
“Roll On Slow” isn’t anything like that older stuff. Glen Hansard just sounds older, though not in a negative way. He’s added layers to his music that needs production on a much grander scale than the guitar and keyboard from back in the day.
The horns here are nice, they fit well into the new spaces he has created.
