It's been a few months since Brooklyn's Glass Gang released any new music, so I was pretty stoked to find this one in my inbox today.
"Wild Light" is the follow-up to the dance floor friendly, "Outside Your Love," continuing the trio's musical growth towards and embrace of a more rounded pop sound.
Produced by Flood-protege Sonny Diperri (M83, Warpaint, Animal Collective), "Wild Light" is a slow, methodical build of light instrumentation and hushed harmonies that changes tact halfway through.
Towards the two-and-a-half minute mark, a melodic piano line kicks in and the song morphs into a euphoric, house influenced hedonistic swirl of goodness.
Glass Gang's change of direction is already bearing fruit, as evident by "Outside Your Love" and "Wild Light," and it won't be long before New York's best unsigned band have the world at their feet.
