One of my favorites, Brooklyn trio Glass Gang, has just dropped their must-hear 1 For None EP.
The five track release is an experimental take on modern pop and includes previous singles "Outside Your Love," "Wild Light" and "Luxury."
One of the standout tracks from the EP is the 80s influenced "Ballet." Opening with a synth line that sounds like it's straight out of the film Drive, a post-punk Cure inspired guitar riff takes centre stage before driving, New Order-esque percussion take the song in another direction.
"Ballet" is full of nostalgic feels, but never sounds like the band is trying to re-create a certain period. They take their influences and transform them into something you've never heard before, making 1 For None a dynamic and diverse collection of tunes.
You can stream the entire EP here and if you're in the UK, be sure to check out their debut London show at The Waiting Room on November 8.
