Described as "poly-pop" by Pitchfork, Glass Animals' sound is pretty hard to define. One thing's for certain: the track is undeniably smooth.
Released sometime last month on an EP titled Leaflings (via Kaya Kaya Records), the standout element for me is definitely the futuristic bass line. Seriously...it makes me want to run out and grab new speakers with a lower depth spectrum.
Anyway, the reason this one caught my attention today is that they've officially released a music video to go along with the track. Without further ado, here it is...

A few years back there was a bit of a fad with 8-bit sounds that integrated classic Ninento 64 samples into songs. I'm pretty sure they'd all be jealous if they heard how well Glass Animals pulled it off on this one...

This song captured my attention from the word "go," but failed to keep me the whole way. It had me constantly teetering between love and slight frustration.It's simultaneously fresh and repetitive; exciting and drawn out.
