Why do we like this?

Girlpool is the type of band I want playing when staring out the window when traversing the desert -- it's trill and somehow channels Phil Elvrum circa 2001. Think The Glow, pt 2.

Girlpool is Cleo and Harmony, a L.A.-born duo now relocated to Philly for a "change of pace." They met at L.A.'s gritty underground venue The Smell, a place that matches their style of introspective punk.

Referred to by NME as the "coolest girls in town," they remind me of an aloof Winona Ryder type from 90s suburbia. I swoon.

Cop their debut, out now on Wichita.
