Three months ago, the lads from Girl Friend seriously impressed us with their bright and polished pop track called "Chemical Reaction."
They're back with another quality release in the form of "Monte Carlo." Just like the French Riviera that this track is inspired by, this is bright, flashy, and as sophisticated as ever.
Perhaps much of the gloss injected into Girl Friend's music comes at the hand of its lead singer, Amory. Character-wise, Amory is painted by his publicists as a lead who openly wrestles with themes surrounding indulgence, glamor, and healthy doses of his own vanity -- all while grounding himself in what's graceful and light. Seems about right, because all of that feels nicely interwoven throughout this various layers of this track.
If you need any more convincing of the upcoming talent that is Girl Friend, they're set to support The Kooks on their UK tour in February and March.
