If you're a fan of Bonobo-influenced productions and Studio Ghibli films then the debut single from Ghosting will be right up your alley.
Ghosting is the new project from Grammy-Nominated producer Andrei Eremin, whose forthcoming Reimagining Miyazaki mixtape is inspired by the 15th anniversary of Spirited Away's release.
The projects first single, "One Summer「 Spirited Away 」", is a joyous piano driven instrumental soundtracking footage taken from the classic anime. It's a glorious arrangement that's both calming and sprawling, with the ambient sounds created by Ghosting the perfect match for Hayao Miyazak's films.
On the mixtape itself, Ghosting had this to say;
"The mixtape started as a lightbulb moment to sample Spirited Away, one of my all-time favourite films. I took out my keyboard on a whim, cut up the intro to the film and within 4 hours I’d finished the best track I’d ever made. It was a sign. From there the decision made itself - I had to sample every other Miyazaki film."
Reimagining Miyazaki is out May 12.
