There's an exciting pop movement going on in London at the moment, with a number of artists making quirky and abstract songs that are still very much pop.
Three names that roll off the tongue in this regard are Jai Paul, Jungle, and Juce, and its with the latter that we find GEoRGiA. Before now, Georgia Barnes has been drummer for Juce and has also toured with Kwes and Kate Tempest.
However, under the name GEoRGiA, she has decided to split out on her own, releasing debut EP Come In on the Kaya Kaya label. It's already received support from Dummy, i-D, and Zane Lowe, among others, and it's not hard to see why.
With vocals that recall former Hype Williams front-lady Inga Copeland and beats that sound like some kind of weird Jai Paul-Holy Other hybrid, GEoRGiA's music is very unique but very captivating.
