Why do we like this?
Singer-songwriter and all-around musical extraordinaire George Barnett has been known for crafting catchy pop tunes. At the tender age of 19, the Englishman already has two EPs, a full length, and a mixtape to his name, all featuring Barnett taking musical duties on every instrument featured. Much like his fellow countryman and multi-instrumentalist Badly Drawn Boy, it appears that Barnett is ready to take the music world by storm.

With his brand new EP Animal Keeper set to be released on November 10, Barnett is exploring some new territory: the world of electronic production. The title track is already getting some heavy radio play via BBC, but his second track off the EP really shows Barnett starting to shine.

The intro to the track, "Reflection," finds Barnett channeling his inner Elton John as he croons while banging away on the piano. But the track really gets interesting when a funky R&B and trap-inspired beat sneaks its way in to your head, all followed by a soaring chorus that Chris Martin of Coldplay would be proud of. Barnett effortlessly travels from style to style, sharing a bit of his own musical taste and never letting any of it sound forced.

If you dig it, you can go get a free download of The Red Tape, Barnett's mixtape, or if you're living in the UK go check out Barnett's live show where he's currently touring. That should be enough to hold you over. At least until the release of Animal Keeper.
