Why do we like this?
End of year lists are always a great way to find songs you've overlooked. One such track that slipped through the Indie Shuffle net was Genius of Time's "Juno Jam," so its about time we gave it a feature.
Originally appearing in 2013 as part of John Talabot's excellent DJ-Kicks mix album, Juno Jam has to be one of the year's most infectious cuts. RA didn't overlook it, saying:
"We could talk about the plump kicks, the catchy melody, the tropical sheen and so on, but goddamn did this one just make you want to DANCE."
And that sums it up: it sure is clever (check the pan flutes for instance) but really, this was just a great, fun dance track, very much in line with the playful nature of someone like Todd Terje. Get yourself a copy here.
