Why do we like this?

Guitar virtuoso Gary Clark Jr. is back with two new singles, "Grinder" and "The Healing." Readying the release of his long-awaited sophomore album, The Story Of Sunny Boy Slim, Clark Jr. has given fans a small taste of what to expect.

"Grinder" is your typical blues rock, with Clark Jr. exercising his phenomenal solo skills. But for me it's the soul-infused "The Healing" that impresses the most.

Beginning with a man singing gospel, Clark Jr. slides the tune into uplifting soul rock, declaring "this music is my healing."

 The Story Of Sunny Boy Slim is set for a September 11 release.
