Getting the prize for one of the more interesting and unique remixes of Gallant’s summer stunner “Weight In Gold” goes to Brooklyn future bass act Brasstracks.
This is an official remix and Brasstracks has added their signature touch of bass and brass. Actually it’s more than a touch — this remix is super horn-heavy. This is so good because it does what a good remix should do, that is, not sound or feel like one.
I like Brasstracks for their ultra cool combo of being a future bass act with horns. A lot of what we’ve seen from them so far from them has been mashups and remixes but their work is so distinct that they stand out from the crowded remix space.
It helps that these guys are super talented and remixing the shit out of a lot of cool tracks. Brasstracks is making a mark on Indie Shuffle as well. This will be their fifth feature on this blog already this year.
