Why do we like this?
"Forfeit" is the latest gem from dream pop purveyor Gallant. Taken from his forthcoming EP, Zebra, "Forfeit" is melodic R&B with equal amounts of pleasant distortion and gorgeous percussion.
Following on from his last release, the murky yet ethereal "Manhattan," this is another brilliant track from L.A.-based Gallant. His soulful and emotional vocals are effortless, and there's an emotional connection with his singing, much like How To Dress Well or Frank Ocean.
Produced by Felix Snow, the man responsible for SZA's irrepressible "Julia," the easy-going and soulful beat reflect the honesty and vulnerability of Gallant's songwriting. I'm pretty excited for the release of Zebra.
