Future Islands is back with "Ran," the first single taken from their forthcoming album The Far Field.
If you're a Future Islands fan you'll be all around this one. Their new-wave influenced indie sound is in full flight, with the melodic bass and dynamic synth line coming together like a beautiful sunrise, while frontman Samuel T. Herring's easily recognizable vocal infliction is a joy to absorb, asking, "What’s a song without you? / When every song I write is about you."
Their soon to be released fifth record was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (Sigur Rós, The War On Drugs, Cloud Nothings) and contains a duet with Blondie singer Debbie Harry on track "Shadows."
The Far Field is set for release April 7.
