With a simple premise executed in a manner that turns it into a sick little ear worm, FRND's sophomore release "Sticks and Stones" is a comforting future leaning, electro pop track.
Blending future bass and pop music, similar to what Autograf and The Chainsmokers have been doing as of late, FRND makes a cozy corner for themselves with their focus on familiarity and flipping it into something refreshing. Using the eponymous nursery rhyme as their skeleton, "Sticks and Stones" truly soars when it gets to its' drops. Trading out 4/4 dance structure for something which feels more hip and relevant, FRND casually serves up a dark horse of an electronic pop number in their latest offering.
After multiple listens, its infectious melodies and beat grows and grows on the mind. It's difficult to shake, so while "Sticks and Stones" may break your bones, you may also find yourself humming this tune for days.
