Why do we like this?
In case you'd forgotten, the people of Japan just experienced one of the worst natural disasters in recent memory. While it was fortunate that casualty rates were considerably lower than events in Haiti and South Asia, the damage to infrastructure was substantial. That's why Freelance Whales are trying to do their part to improve the lives of those living there.
Proceeds from their new EP Benefit For Japan will go to a Japan relief fund. They've teamed up with artists such as MNDR, The Antlers, and of course Ra Ra Riot. As pointed out by our friends at Pretty Much Amazing, the song shares many similarities with the work produced by Discovery (side project of Ra Ra Riot's front man Wes Miles + Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij). The result is an indie pop remix the likes of something Remix Artist Collective (RAC) might produce.
You can get the EP and donate here.
