Kendrick Lamar continues to share the wealth, this time jumping on Chicago rapper Fredo Santana's latest track, "Jealous." To be honest, I've never heard of Santana, but after a little research, I found out he's not only Chief Keef's older cousin, but co-CEO of Keef's label Glory Boyz Entertainment. While yet to release an album, he's released numerous mixtapes and is generally well known around the Chicago hip-hop community. Having Lamar drop a guest verse on "Jealous" is sure to get him more exposure.
Discussing the trappings of fame, particularly how jealous others get, Santana and Lamar contribute a verse each over the piano-infused trap beat of "Jealous." As you'd expect, Lamar dominates, and it's a sheer pleasure to hear K-Dot drop double entendres and wax lyrical about drinking and his brothers death. Mark this down as another win for hip-hop's brightest star.
