BadBadNotGood is a triad of young white Canadian musical prodigies. Matthew Tavares, Alex Sowinski and Chester Hansen met in college and bonded over their love of jazz and hip-hop. Following three digital releases as BBNG, the crew caught a buzz from fans and respect from peers and OGs.
They're now on the Innovative Leisure roster and just released their third collection, and first physical release, III. A bonus track on the improvisational post-hip-hop jazz affair is a reworking of a Freddie Gibbs and Madlib track. "Shame" is one of numerous highlights off the surreal gangster epic Piñata, released earlier this year.
BBNG's remix is more jarring than the original. The new track spends the verse exploring the quiet and cold terror that comes after rendering the most intimate human exchange meaningless. The chorus parts still kind of sound like busting a nut though.
