Why do we like this?
The Speech was Electric
I like this song for a few reasons, not specifically just because it is a bop, but also because it has a strange almost monologue- esque vibe that is wholly unique.
A song often has just one narrative track, one idea, however in this track, with its electric infusion of indie and chill-wave electronica, the narrative gets thrown a twofold idea - a simple premise gets turned into an interesting and beautifully constructed duet of layered dialogue - two voices and a funky guitar get layered over each other to make what can only be described as a vibe... a really good vibe.
