Why do we like this?
Flashback Friday? Well, in one sense it is. This remix of "Take Me Out" was originally released by Daft Punk back in 2004 as a bonus track on their debut self-titled album Franz Ferdinand. But I had no idea it existed, so it may as well be new.

Interestingly, Franz Ferdinand uploaded this track to their official SoundCloud today, making me suspect that the timing was strategic. Daft Punk are still a hot subject, and with Franz Ferdinand having just released their latest album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action last month, this might just be a clever marketing ploy to keep them relative.

If so, I hope it helps them sell more records. They could certainly use a boost if they're hoping to garner as much attention as Arctic Monkeys got on their new album.

As for this remix, it's a pretty powerful combo to have together on one track. So much so that my expectations were somewhat let down; I feel like Daft Punk could have done more on this. Fortunately it's virtually impossible to mess up a song as good as "Take Me Out," so the end product is still worthy of bringing to your eardrums.
