London-based duo Ned Franc and John Moody have bequeathed unto us a gift of the most euphoric kind – an electronic, dance-pop, disco-rave-inspired track replete with grooving synths, funky basslines, and some dope-ass heavy beats.
Irresistibly bold and simple, “Losing Touch” is a dance track that makes it difficult to sit still. The songwriting is simple, but the rhythms are so fun and colourful that anything more complicated wouldn’t do the track justice. It’s designed to get you moving and doesn’t take itself too seriously – a pertinent reminder for me to do the same, especially on those more challenging days.
In a statement, the band had the following to say about this bouncy, glittering slice of disco pie:
"The song tries to capture the euphoria you feel when you're able to lose touch, to zone out, to really live in the moment, and escape from a sometimes mundane and repetitive reality. ‘Losing Touch’ feels a lot more linear than anything we’ve put out up to date. We wanted to try and create a hypnotic groove that you can lose yourself in."
“Losing Touch” is the first single released from Franc Moody’s upcoming EP, House of FM, and is due out May 19th, 2021.
