Why do we like this?
Two of Melbourne's finest new talents combine on this track, with electronic duo Willow Beats remixing Fractures' debut single "Twisted." This release comes at a great time for both artists, but for very different reasons.
Willow Beats has been blowing up around the country with numerous sold-out shows as well as a support tour with Gold Fields, keeping them very much in front of the public eye. Fractures, however, has had to put his plans on hold somewhat. The solo artist has been recovering from a fractured neck (seriously, you can't make this stuff up!), but will be back in action shortly with his debut EP out soon (check out the remix of Owl Eyes' "Nightswim" he put out just last week).
This is one of the better remixes I've heard of late. Willow Beats adds their adventurous touch to the track without completely altering it. Fractures' melancholic vocals are somewhat warmed by the fluid, playful sampling and effects used, with the drop around the three-minute mark a definite highlight. If you missed the original of this track, check it out here; it's definitely worth comparing the two.
I love when two young and exciting acts join forces, and this is a great example of how important remixes are in the industry these days -- especially great ones!
