Striking, effervescent, and bubbly, Fractures have dropped a sparkly pop hit that smacks of Summer. “Raspberries” is a carousel of dancing lights founded on bright and atmospheric synths, catchy percussive bars, and subtle, feathery guitar work.
Despite Fractures’ - otherwise known as Mark Zito - masterful work, it’s Jade Alice’s dreamy vocals that really pull the track together, and the way they spiral around Zito’s own warm verses provide it with a certain je ne sais quoi that’ll ensure it’s pumping nonstop on your 'I’m Dreaming of Summer' playlist.
“Raspberries” was born in 2020 and has been blossoming ever since, serving as the catalyst for Summer, Fractures’ new EP due out November 12.
In a press release, Zito spoke about his new record:
“I’d decided that [the] ‘Summer’ EP would [be] much lighter than my usual output. For whatever reason I always envisioned [‘Raspberries’] as having a female feature ...I had never imagined anything like what Jade had put down – it was such a unique approach compared to my own melodies and it set the song apart. So with that was a realisation that this song should focus on its strength and let Jade take the wheel. I wanted the song to be bright, fun, simple, and stick in your head. I feel like it does.”
Oh, it definitely does. Have fun humming this one to yourself for the next few days!
