Sounds like:
MGMT,
Broken Bells
Why do we like this?
The record label Jagjaguwar gets mad respect from me. Their killer lineup includes the likes of Bon Iver, Dinosaur Jr., Okkervil River, and many more. So, I was pretty confident that listening to Foxygen's "Shuggie" would be a good experience.
Turns out it was even better than I had anticipated. Think a blend between Broken Bells and MGMT -- clearly this duo of 22-year-olds are onto something here. The song will be on their debut album, We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, due for release early 2013.
While the album title may be a bit wordy, there's nothing long-winded about this song. It hits all the right notes in all the right places with marvelous results.
