Why do we like this?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there's a resurgence of folksy, psychedelic music taking place right now, and I damned well like it. From Tame Impala to Telekinesis, these bands are forging ahead with a simple, but easily approachable sound. Pretty much the perfect summer festival / afternoon music? Clearly.
Add to the list newcomers Foxygen, who burst onto the scene late last year with their lead single "Shuggie."
The sound of their music is simple and beautiful, and I couldn't think of a more perfect setting than San Francisco to conduct a listening sesh. Which is why, as a San Franciscan, I find this song to be both appropriately titled and bloody amazing.
