Sometimes songs have a message in their lyrics, and sometimes those songs have messages which are really simple and sweet. This is one of those songs. I'm not sure that Foxwarren would appreciate being called "sweet". I guess not many rock and roll bands would actually. Lets rather say it is cheerful, thoughtful, poetic, and frank at the same time.
The simplicity in the lyrics (Andy Shauf tells an old time love to break it off quickly, while assuring them that he will be alright), matches the overallfeel of thistrack, which is what I really like about it. A humble acoustic guitar riff runs through, accompanied by some sleepy and low-timbered melodic percussion. The additional, modest melody played on keys, and the vocal harmonies paint a hazy picture of a group of old friends hanging out, jamming, and supporting Andy Shauf as he sings this one out.
