I cannot express how excited I was to discover that Foxtails Brigade covered a Jon Brion song. Ever since the movie I Heart Huckabees, I've held a soft spot for Jon Brion (who composed the entire movie). Considering that Foxtails Brigade is one of my new favorite bands, I was beyond ecstatic to listen to this song and watch the video, and I was not the least bit disappointed.
The Foxtails Brigade's video for their version of "Little Person" is simply adorable and sweetly captivating. This animated piece features lead singer, Laura Weinbach, being a lonesome little person lost in the mix of this crazy world, and then discovering a creature who's just like her. They frolic through the days, going on adventures and picnics and genuinely enjoying each other's company.
The song itself is thick with orchestral arrangements -- it's truly a modern-day symphony of strings and Laura's milky vocals. Foxtails Brigade have got such a gorgeous grasp on innovative orchestral folk pop that I have no doubt they are destined for great things. So do yourself a favor and listen to and watch "Little Person." And what's even better is that you can download this song for FREE!
