Why do we like this?
Don't you just love a good B-side? For those of you who remember the Jamie xx remix of Four Tet's "Lion" I reviewed here, welcome to the darker side of its moon.
Samir Alikhanizadeh, aka Happa, an upcoming house/techno producer out of the UK, just remixed Four Tet's "Jupiters" to accompany Jamie xx's refix on TEXT020. It's a very raw and uncluttered tune, minimal and sinisterly haunting. And those drums, daaaang... they do not quit, while Happa pulls in a perfect dash of Four Tet's appropriately spacey, dynamic original.
The best part, saved for last, is that Happa is just 15 years old. I expect we will see big things out of this one over the next few years.
