Why do we like this?
If you're wondering how to get booked for Coachella with only 12-minutes of recorded music to your name, you might want to take a look at Foster the People. The brainchild of L.A.-based Mark Foster, the band has released only three songs to-date, two of which are featured in Today's Song of the Day.
The first is "Pumped Up Kicks," which not only instantly catches the attention of listeners, but appears to also have a knack for gaining the attention of corporations. While I haven't seen the commercials myself, rumor has it that the song is now a flagship of Converse's campaigning. That's hardly surprising, considering the slick surf-rock guitar and all the clapping going on in this song.
The second track "Helena Beat" has had just as much success, capturing the hearts/ears of mash-up and remix artists alike. The results include a track featuring Wiz Khalifa's smooth rappin'.
Want to hear the third track? Visit the band's site here.
