There are two distinct threads running through French house music -- the filter house popularized by the likes of Daft Punk and Stardust; and the deeper house of Pépe Bradock and St Germain.
Now, Lyonnaise producer Folamour is tying the two disparate strands together on the D'Angelo-sampling "Love Frequencies," where smooth, sumptuous strings reminiscent of Pépe at his best meet a guitar solo straight out of the Thomas Bangalter playbook.
After something of a quiet spell for French house, it seems that a series of young producers are spearheading a comeback, with Mézigue, who we previously featured, also well worth checking out.
"Love Frequencies" was released on Folamour's own Moonrise Hill Material label last year - grab yourself a copy here. Keep up with Folamour via Facebook and SoundCloud.
