A buzzing and charged track, "2 AM" reminds us why Foals are the puritans of indie hard rock — it's refined, it's shouty, and it's an absolute jam to listen to.
A lack of contact and romance is the basis of this track, but you wouldn't notice it purely just by the absolute joy of performance this track gives your ears. It's a Foals-y sound through and through and that is by no means a bad thing.
It's layered with hard drums and duplicated vocals that create a chorus of sounds culminating in a feeling of pure expressive frustration.
It's 2 AM somewhere and Foals is playing in the streets for sure.
