Out of South London emerges Best Laid Plans's latest signee: Flying Ibex. With a sound steeped in years of freeform experimentation, the colorful quartet create a day-glow slice of psych pop on "Away From My Mind."
The quirky four-piece pull inspiration from all over- citing influences such as African cassette tapes- and got their start improvising atop silent films and theater performances.
The band's lineup includes singer/songwriter Barnaby Keen backed by guitarist Nathaniel Keen, Chilean bassist Collin Somervell, and drummer Dave De Rose. Allow them to invade your ears with warbling notes and meandering melodies.
"Away From My Mind" is the first offering from Flying Ibex's forthcoming EP. Stay tuned for more in the near future, I have a feeling this artist is one worth investing in.
