While a rather nauseating stream of pop-house continues to dominate the charts at previously unseen levels, the weirder permutations of the genre are continuing to produce plenty of good music regardless.
One such artist operating on the outer fringes of house is Vancouver's Florist. Like many of his Vancouver companions on labels like Future Times, Mood Hut, and 1080p, it's a distinctively hazy version of house music that Florist produces.
Perhaps his best track yet is the warm, woozy "Marine Drive," which has been floating around the internet for quite some time.
It has finally been picked up for a release by Glaswegian label All Caps, and is due to come out on August 31. Although there aren't currently any pre-order links up, keep your eyes on All Caps' Facebook and Florist's SoundCloud pages for more.
