One of my favorite Florence + The Machine songs has now had the Clams Casino embrace. The powerful and stunning "Never Let Me Go" is already a track that captures you right from the start and now with this fine remix, we have solid gold.
It comes as no surprise that Clams flipped a track and made it his own without adding too many bells and whistles, but what is exceptionally significant about this new version is how perfect the two distinct styles blend together. Here we have an electronic, usually hip-hop producer, taking on a track that is dominated by fierce female singing and a chorus that will claw at your heartstrings, yet he uses it to his advantage and makes it sound incredible. This enormously emblematic ballad is stuffed with a darkness that is electrifying and haunting, give it a listen and see how it measures up to the original.
"Never Let Me Go" will accompany the version found on Ceremonials, in a limited edition, hand-numbered 180-gram white vinyl single, art directed by the Chanel wunderkind, Karl Lagerfeld.
