Originally rising to prominence as a member of Detroit's legendary techno outfit Underground Resistance, Robert Hood is one of the most revered names in a city that's hardly short of electronic legends.
Hood has continued the group's Techno excursions under his own name, but its under his Floorplan alias that he marries the two sides of Detroit together.
Using techno as a base, Hood's work as Floorplan reminds listeners that Detroit was also the home to Motown, with a range of soulful samples and soaring strings permeating his work.
With second album Victorious, recently released, lead-single 'Tell You No Lie' has reminded the world of Hood's brilliance with an eight minute, gospel workout of a track.
