I guess I've gotten used to long songs by Fleet Foxes, so it came as a pleasant surprise that this, their first single in six years, clocks in at just under 9 minutes in length.
The song itself goes through multiple twists and turns, including a dreamy interlude around the 7-minute-mark. All-in-all it's a welcome return, and I reckon fans are going to find themselves pretty darn satisfied.
"Third of May / Ōdaigahara" comes off the band's just-announced upcoming album Crack-Up, available for pre-order here and released on June 16th via Nonesuch Records.
