Sydney duo Fishing has been doing the rounds for some time now (I even covered one of their earlier projects We Say Bamboulee back in 2011), and now they've reached a new pinnacle with the release of their debut album, Shy Glow.
A fantastic collection of eclectic electronic pop music, the record covers the journeys and experiences of best mates and collaborators Doug Wright and Russell Fitzgibbon.
With fans having already enjoyed two of the album's tracks, we turn our attention to current single "Your Mouth," which features the vocals of Jonas Nicholls (lead singer of fellow Indie Shuffle favorite Sures).
Typically vibrant and bouncy, we see Fishing's best quality -- their ability to appeal to a wide audience while still maintaining a quirky, experimental vibe. Nicholls' punchy vocals suit this bubbly track perfectly, with the guys also recruiting a raft of talented collaborators for the album in Marcus Whale (Collarbones), Guerre, and Doug's brother Al Wright (Cloud Control).
Out via Create Control June 6, Shy Glow is an album you should definitely add to your wish list.
