Why do we like this?
South London duo, fika, are known for their soulful productions, so it's no surprise that their latest release, "All For You," is another wonderful illustration of their songwriting abilities.
A collaboration with German producer,Fabich (a favourite of the Indie Shuffle crew), this jazzy lounge number introduces hip-hop beats and a wonderful guitar solo on a track that sizzles like bacon in a pan. This is a delightful, feel-good four minutes of sonic bliss showcasing the skills of both fika and Fabich. Speaking on the track fika had this to say:
'All For You' started out pretty stripped back with just keys and vocals in the form of an old jazz turnaround. We knew we liked the song already but when Fabich built upon it with driving, swung hats and the heavy hip-hop bass it totally transformed the track into something harder hitting. We then added more layers to the record with the help of some other great musicians and ended up happy with both the songwriting and the overall sonic.
The release of "All For You" coincides with the duo announcing a new collaborative EP, Love Stories, due for release September 25.
