South London duo. fika. & German producer, Fabich's, much-hyped collaborative EP, Love Stories, has finally dropped, and boy is it a doozy.
Recorded in Fabich's London studio, the EP features three previously released tracks along with two new ditties. As a whole, Love Storiesis a soothing, late-night vibe type of listen, featuring the jazzy "All For You," groovy dance floor starter, "Missing Me," and experimental wonder, "PJs In Brazil." Of all the tracks, "Come Over" is the clear highlight. A melodic jazz affair with a bluesy guitar solo and soulful vocals, it's a fantastic fusion of both fika and Fabich's talents. Speaking about the creation of the EP, fika said:
Love Stories was all about exploring creativity and getting to know one another. There were no preconceptions going into the creation of the record and what it should sound like. We ate donuts, drank beer, and enjoyed each other’s company all before exploring any musical ideas. For us that’s what it’s all about, just creating - some of the songs don’t have a structure, they don’t have a chorus, we just went with the flow. What we ended up with was an organic collection of songs that just so happened to be about love.
